EU Food Contact regulation is now much more demanding. Formation of NIAS, their migration level & toxicological properties have to be investigated in details & it has to be demonstrated that despite detectable migration (above 10 µg/kg food) food will still be safe. This procedure is certainly very complex & expensive. Failure to provide sufficient data to EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) can lead to rejection of your application!
