PPG has announced a three-year partnership and $164,000 (150,000 euros) grant to the Finnish Science Centre Heureka to support science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education.
Heureka, a non-profit educational institution, aims to introduce science and technology in an inspiring and understandable way. Its goal is to increase the motivation of students of all ages to learn and study as well as influence the attitudes of students and parents to encourage scientific career choices for young people. The ‘Power of Play’ was developed in collaboration with early childhood education experts.
PPG aims to build the next generation of STEM leaders to help society meet collective challenges quickly, creatively and effectively. The company supports students at various points along their educational continuum and is helping increase the number of young people with an interest in STEM, especially diverse students entering advanced STEM studies. Tikkurila, acquired by PPG in 2021, was one of the founding partners of Heureka when it opened in 1989.
