ICIS highlights emerging leaders in the chemical industry. “The chemicals industry is unique in that it can make the greatest impact on the environment in two key aspects – decarbonizing its own operations, and producing products that enable others to decarbonize and meet their own sustainability goals,” said Joseph Chang of ICIS.
Several CPCA member leaders’ achievements and visions (BASF CEO Martin Brudermulle #1, Dow CEO Jim Fitterling #2, Clariant CEO Conrad Keijzer #5, and Lanxess CEO Matthias Zachert #9) are recognized among the top 10 of the ICIS Top 40 Power Players 2022 list. Additionally, Brenntag and Sherwin-Williams CEOS also figure among the top 40.
The BASF Brudermuller CEO was also the recipient of the ICIS CEO of the Year Award in 2021 for the launch of BASF ‘Net Zero Accelerator’ unit to speed up projects on low-carbon dioxide (CO2) technologies, recycling, and renewable energy to ensure it meets its CO2 emissions reduction target of 25 percent by 2030, en route to net zero by 2050.
The ICIS list recognizes chemical industry leaders who are making a positive impact on the industry and positioning their companies for growth. Watch for exciting changes ahead in our industry!
