Product Care Names New President & CEO
The appointment of Product Care’s new President & CEO, Brian Bastien, will be effective on Monday, July 3, 2023. Product Care is also pleased to announce that Mark Kurschner, after serving Product Care as President/CEO since 2002, will continue with Product Care on a part-time basis as VP, Legal and Government Affairs, while supporting a smooth transition for Brian to his new role.
Product Care’s Board of Directors welcomes Brian Bastien and is confident that he will do a great job as the organization’s new leader. He has extensive experience in the highly regulated brewing industry, which has also given him significant exposure to recycling regulations. In a former role, he worked at the Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation (ABCRC) in Calgary. He has strong leadership skills and significant experience working with regulators in multi-stakeholder environments. The board is certain Brian will quickly pick up on the EPR landscape across the jurisdictions in which Product Care operates. Brian lives in Vancouver and is from Toronto. He has a Bachelor of Economics & Geography degree from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Aberystwyth University in Wales.
Product Care also takes this opportunity to sincerely thank Mark Kurschner for his positive impact on the organization and its sustainability objectives across Canada. Mark has been a true trail blazer in our industry and Product Care is delighted to see him continue with the organization.
