CPCA Announces NEW Board Members

March 14, 2023, Ottawa, ONTARIO: At a recent meeting of the CPCA Board of Directors, Governance Committee Chair Steve Veroba of Benjamin Moore, nominated three new Board members: Roula Hanna of KRONOS Worldwide, Lorama Group’s Jake Jevric and Elizabeth Rice of AkzoNobel. The nomination was unanimously approved by the Board and is effective immediately. Steve Veroba commented that, “The three new board members will proceed to the full membership for confirmation at the next Annual General Meeting.”  The next AGM will be held at CPCA’s Annual Conference on May 24 & 25 at the Queen’s Landing Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Roula Hanna is currently Key Account Manager at KRONOS Worldwide. After earning her Masters in Polymer Chemistry from Université de Montréal, Roula joined the chemicals sector. In 1997 she began her career in the titanium dioxide industry where her first position included providing technical services for the inks and coatings sectors. In 2001 she began working for KRONOS CANADA INC. on TiO2 sales for several industry sectors including coatings. She is involved in all aspects  of the TiO2 business from sales to technical support and regulatory affairs.

Jake Jevric earned a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from Ryerson University and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management in marketing, finance and strategy. He is no stranger to the coatings industry having spent 21 years in it. Based in Toronto, Jake heads up the Business Unit for North America, Global Marketing & Distribution for Lorama Group. Prior to that he spent thirteen years with L.V. Lomas as Marketing Manager for Industrial and Fine Chemicals, which includes coatings, inks and adhesives.  Jake was active as Chair in the Toronto Society for Coatings Technology for nine years supporting education and training for those in the coatings industry. More recently in 2013, he helped establish CPCA’s online CoatingsTECH training course based on the extensive work by TOSCOT over many decades.

Elizabeth Rice earned a degree in Political Science from the Ohio State University and an MBA in Business from Franklin University. She has been working with one of the largest paint and coatings companies in the world based in Cleveland, Ohio as AkzoNobel’s North American Manager for Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs. She is engaged in all aspects of Akzo’s business divisions related to ongoing regulatory work in the 50 US States and at the federal level in both the United States and Canada. Her past work and support of CPCA’s technical committees on key legislative and regulatory files makes her an ideal board member.

“The nominees all have deep roots in the coatings industry, and each brings invaluable experience that will help the CPCA Board set the direction for the Association in the coming years,” commented Darrin Noble, President, and COO of Cloverdale Paint and CPCA Board Chair.
