The expression Sharing is Caring is brought to life with Product Care’s Paint Share Program. Product Care Recycling is an industry-led organization working to protect the environment by providing free recycling locations for consumers and businesses to bring products like paint, household hazardous waste, lights, and alarms to recycling facilities. Product care diverts these post-consumer products from Canada’s landfills and waterways, ensuring they are managed responsibly at their end-of-life.
Paint Share is an altogether different program that not only reduces waste by re-using paint but cultivates community. Paint Share provides FREE paint on an as-is, as-available basis to builders, DIY-ers, creators, and artists, cultivating a community of creatives who love paint as much as they do the environment.
Paint Share is available in British-Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. In 2022 across participating provinces there were 225 participating sites, 35,848 shared cans of paint which equates to 149,034 litres of paint shared and diverted from landfill and waterways. Paint that was used to protect and preserve walls, furniture, exterior facias, or any surface or substrate in need of repair or creative expression.
