Adhesion Science Short Course

Virginia Tech’s Macromolecules Innovation Institute is hosting its annual Adhesion Science Short Course from May 20-24, 2019. This unique lecture-laboratory short course is aimed specifically at the adhesive and sealant industry. Classroom sessions will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn in Blacksburg, Va. Labs will be held on the Virginia Tech campus. Virginia Tech faculty will teach the course. Some of the course topics include: adhesives, sealant and waterborne rheology; adsorption on surfaces/surface energy; stresses in bonded joints; surfaces and surface preparation; fracture of adhesive bonds; adhesive test methods; analysis of surfaces; introduction to adhesive chemistry; durability and design. Your registration fee includes instruction, instruction materials, lab materials and safety equipment, lunch Monday through Thursday, breaks Monday through Friday, and a Thursday evening banquet. The course is limited to 30 participants.
